Beth Eden Is A Spirit-Filled Innovative House of Worship located in the Heart of Historical Savannah. It's Mission is to Transform lives through the Word of God And the Spirit of Love. This fine example of Neo-Gothic architecture is located at Lincoln Street and E. Gordon Street in Wesley Ward just off Whitefield square. Berlin-born architect Henry Urban designed this church for an African-American congregation, an off-shoot of Second African Baptist, in 1893. An associate of Boston architect William Preston, Urban is also credited with the administration of the Christ Church interior rebuild after the fire of 1897 as well as intricate brick detailing of the Foley Inn and the DeSoto Hotel.

The interior is noteworthy for how the innovative floor plan fits a monumental space onto a restrictive site. Also of interest are historic details such as the original stain glass windows and combination gas/electric light fixtures. A colorful frieze above the choir loft provides a contemporary depiction of the Last Supper.

Pastor Samantha Stewart Sunkins, Beth Eden’s first female pastor, grew up in this church, returning after thirty years to become the dynamic shepherd leading this historic flock through a rebuilding phase in its second century.
